David Bowie

For a long time I wanted to start up a David Bowie collection, but wasn't sure how to go along doing it. So finally I bought this 2-disc greatest hits collection and was done with it.

Oh yeah...did you hear the latest? David Bowie has finally announced that he's heterosexual. The musical world is still reeling!

Hmmf...well, since the only Bowie songs I'm intimately familiar with are his radio hits, this collection does well for me. The only glaring omission is "This is Not America" from the movie Falcon & the Snowman, how in the WORLD could they have left that one off???

"Space Oddity" has been covered by Helloween and Star One; "Heroes" has been covered (unintelligably) by Celtic Frost. Bauhaus did an INCREDIBLE version of "Ziggy Stardust" (which I have on my custom Digital Puppies in Cyberspace CD); Def Leppard has covered that song, too. "Under Pressure" also appears on Queen's Hot Space album, as well as a CD-single.
