Glenn Danzig was the lead singer of the Misfits and Samhain (not that it makes any
difference to me.)
"Danzig"
- "Twist of Cain" (4:17)
- "Not of this World" (3:43)
- "She Rides" (5:11)
- "Soul on Fire" (4:37)
- "Am I Demon" (4:58)
- "Mother" (3:26)
- "Possession" (3:56)
- "End of Time" (4:02)
- "The Hunter" (3:31)
- "Evil Thing" (3:17)
ABSOLUTELY a classic album. In fact, the record store was playing this CD one day when I
walked in, and I bought it right then and there! Danzig's voice has a real Jim Morrison feel
to it (though the music, of course, has NOTHING to do with the Doors!)
"Danzig II: Lucifuge"
- "Long Way Back from Hell" (4:33)
- "Snakes of Christ" (4:25)
- "Killer Wolf" (4:00)
- "Tired of Being Alive" (4:02)
- "I'm the One" (3:23)
- "Her Black Wings" (4:41)
- "Devil's Plaything" (4:13)
- "777" (5:40)
- "Blood and Tears" (4:19)
- "Girl" (4:12)
- "Pain in the World" (5:54)
Somewhat of a disappointing followup, though still pretty good, especially the first two
tracks.
"How the Gods Kill"
- "Godless" (6:49)
- "Anything" (4:48)
- "Bodies" (4:23)
- "How the Gods Kill" (5:56)
- "Dirty Black Summer" (5:12)
- "Left Hand Black" (4:29)
- "Heart of the Devil" (4:37)
- "Sistinas" (4:21)
- "Do You Wear the Mark" (4:46)
- "When the Dying Calls" (3:31)
I never got into this CD and have stopped paying attention to anything Danzig has released
since. "Godless" has a great opening riff, but bogs down in a plethora of needless signature
changes. "How the Gods Kill" is an excellent song, but "Dirty Black Summer" is pretty
stupid--in fact, the video reminds me of Spinal Tap!
Some people have asked why I don't "fill up" my Danzig collection -- well, I did
buy Thrall: Demonsweat Live, and found it to be the BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP in
the world! The studio tracks were annoying and stupid; and as for the live tracks, some
advice for whoever mixed them...never, ever, EVER end a live song with a fade-out to the
song that was next in the set! Especially when it's "Mother"!!! So I returned that piece
of shit immediately (by claiming its defective, of course) and decided to institute
a "cut-off point" for Danzig. (This is mostly to control my CD budget, people...I
mean, just look at my collection, you can understand that, right?) Problems did arise
when he covered "Hand of Doom" (a Black Sabbath tune, of
course) on Blackadevil, but luckily I was able to score a 256kbps mp3 of it
which I burned to Digital Puppy II.
