I've said many times how downloading mp3's has gotten me into numerous bands, at the cost
of hundreds of $$$'s...well, back in the day, Dark Tranquility was a band I was convinced NOT
to spend money on based on their mp3s. My God, they sucked! At least, that was my original
opinion...years later, several people convinced me to give them another try, since they've
improved quite a bit on later albums. Whaddaya know, they were right.

Mostly mid-paced melodic death metal, enhanced by a sprinking of keyboards, with halfway
decent In Flames-style vocals (indeed, the singer was the vocalist
for Lunar Strain.) Some nice atmosphere gets created in the songs "Feast of Burden",
"Fabric", and a few others. Overall it's not the greatest Swedish death metal album in the
world, but it's definitely worth a listen. (I've heard Projector is actually their
best album...that's the one I'll check out next.)
