Arguably the first death-metal band, EVER. (Although Possessed
fans may disagree...)
Speaking of Death, lead singer Chuck Schuldiner passed away from cancer on December 13th,
2001...okay, I *promise* I won't make any sick jokes, I swear!

First time I saw this album (back in '87), I laughed myself silly over the
gruesome cover art & song titles... "REGURGITATED GUTS"?!?!? Well, eventually I did
buy the crappy vinyl, and eventually the CD (which has 2 bonus tracks, thank you
very much.) Drummer Chris Reifert later formed his own band, Autopsy.
"Leprosy"

Death has never been that great of a band, and of all the albums I've heard, this one
is the best. Their next release, Spiritual Healing, I bought once and didn't like,
so I sold it. The rest I've only heard through the videos "Lack of Comprehension" and
"The Philosopher", neither of which were any good musically. Apparently, Gene Hoglan
(ex-Dark Angel) played drums on a few of their later albums.
