I was jazzed at first when I found this CD, which contains the full 2-LP album on a single disc! After all, it contains four of my all-time favorite ELO songs, "Turn to Stone", "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Night in the City" and "Mr. Blue Sky", ones I used to listen to a lot way back in the late '70s. Well, I forgot that those were the ONLY songs from the album that I'd listened to, and the rest of the album sucks! Oh well, there's a greatest hits ELO package that I've seen around somewhere, but even if I get that I'll probably keep this CD for nostalgic reasons...

Hmm, just now listened to it to see which songs were instrumentals and now that I think about it the album's not so bad after all...so please disregard the above paragraph. :)

"Time"

  1. "Prologue" (1:16)
  2. "Twilight" (3:42)
  3. "Yours Truly, 2095" (3:12)
  4. "Ticket to the Moon" (4:07)
  5. "The Way Life's Meant to Be" (4:38)
  6. "Another Heart Breaks"--instrumental (3:48)
  7. "Rain is Falling" (3:54)
  8. "From the End of the World" (3:16)
  9. "The Lights Go Down" (3:33)
  10. "Here is the News" (3:45)
  11. "21st Century Man" (4:08)
  12. "Hold on Tight" (3:06)
  13. "Epilogue" (1:31)

I haven't given a lot of priority to collecting ELO music, but the song "Twilight" stuck in my mind ever since it was released back in 1982, so I picked up this disc dirt cheap. (Since the first three songs basically run together, downloading them from Napster wasn't a viable option.) The rest of the music consists mainly of dull ballads, although "From the End of the World" is in a similarly spacey vein. "Hold on Tight" is too retro for my tastes, though.
