This band has a connection to Possessed, though I can't remember what it is exactly. Oh well, seems like ALL Bay Area thrash bands are connected in some fashion or another. (Robb Flynn of Violence was also in an early incarnation of this band.)

"Trapped" (bootleg; CDR)

  1. "Disillusions" (6:09)
  2. "Hypnotized by the Rhythm" (4:50)
  3. "Mind's Eye" (4:05)
  4. "Trapped" (4:15)
  5. "So Dark ~ On this Side" (4:45)
  6. "My Sorrow's My Own" (6:18)
  7. "Chalice of Blood" (4:28)
  8. "Follow Me" (7:15)
  9. "March into Fire" (5:01)

I suspect these demos were recorded after Twisted into Form (except for tracks 7-9, obviously) but haven't been able to confirm that. Good stuff, though. This CD is exceptionally rare and goes for over $60 on eBay; luckily I was able to get a copy from a friend before he sold off his original.

"Forbidden Evil"

  1. "Chalice of Blood" (4:32)
  2. "Off the Edge" (4:16)
  3. "Through Eyes of Glass" (6:24)
  4. "Forbidden Evil" (5:39)
  5. "March into Fire" (5:17)
  6. "Feel No Pain" (5:11)
  7. "As Good as Dead" (4:16)
  8. "Follow Me" (7:03)

This album was titled such because the band's original name was Forbidden Evil--don't have a clue why they dropped the "Evil" part. The sound is real generic and I never got excited by it.

"Raw Evil: Live at the Dynamo"

  1. "Victim of Changes" (8:24)
  2. "Forbidden Evil" (5:46)
  3. "Chalice of Blood" (5:48)
  4. "Through Eyes of Glass" (6:20)

Talk about idiocy...I owned the original Combat CD a long time ago, but sold the fucker when I got the crazy idea to liquidate my "live thrash" collection. BIG MISTAKE...it's got a Judas Priest cover, for Chrissake!!! Thankfully, the original pressing wasn't all THAT rare, but I never managed to score one on eBay. Finally I said "FUCK IT" and ordered the CM reissue for $10. Maybe I could have gotten it for less, but who knows? I certainly don't care.

"Twisted into Form"

  1. "Parting of the Ways"--instrumental (1:03)
  2. "Infinite" (5:46)
  3. "Out of Body (Out of Mind)" (4:39)
  4. "Step by Step" (4:49)
  5. "Twisted into Form" (4:23)
  6. "R.I.P." (7:33)
  7. "Spiral Depression"--instrumental (1:47)
  8. "Tossed Away" (4:34)
  9. "One Foot in Hell" (6:13)

MUCH better than their debut CD, with more original-sounding rhythms and riffs. "Infinite" and "Twisted" are my favorite tracks overall. Truly a thrash-metal classic.

The band broke up for a few years after this one, with drummer Paul Bostaph joining Slayer (and, briefly, Testament) and the remaining members reforming briefly for a couple albums (plus a sloppy version of "Dissident Aggressor" on one of the Judas Priest tribute albums) though I didn't know about it until long after they broke up for the second time!

"Green"

  1. "What is the Last Time?" (2:33)
  2. "Green" (3:17)
  3. "pHat" (3:32)
  4. "Turns to Rage" (5:47)
  5. "Face Down Heroes" (3:43)
  6. "Over the Middle" (3:19)
  7. "Kanaworms" (3:21)
  8. "Noncent$" (3:53)
  9. "Blank" (5:54)
  10. "Focus" (5:28)
  11. (unlisted, backwards track--end of track #14) (1:11)

Wow, this album is HEAVY! It sounds *nothing* like the melodic thrash of Twisted... -- in fact, it borders on grindcore/industrial. Quite a surprise to listen to.

Yet again, the CD engineer plays the "Let's See How Goddamn ANNOYING We Can Be!" game by following the main 10 tracks with three 6-minute long tracks of dead silence, then a 14th track with another 6 minutes of silence, ending with a short bit of some song played backwards! (I haven't reversed it to see exactly which song it is yet.)
