Fudge Tunnel
Collecting Fudge Tunnel CDs has always been a pain in the ass...I've bought
Hate Songs and Creep Diets several times, only to discover they skipped
like hell! Finally located these 3 CDs for a whopping 99 cents each; hey, who says
good things don't come to those who wait? :-)
Oh yeah, these guys do a mean version of "Changes" on the
Masters of Misery tribute CD -- also, guitarist
Alex Newport was the other guy in the Nailbomb project.
"Hate Songs in E Minor"
- "Hate Song" (5:28)
- "Bed Crumbs" (2:18)
- "Spanish Fly" (5:25)
- "Kitchen Belt" (3:51)
- "Hate Song (Version)" (3:16)
- "Boston Baby" (3:40)
- "Gut Rot" (3:55)
- "Soap and Water" (3:41)
- "Tweezers" (3:16)
- "Sunshine of Your Love" (7:26)
- "Cat Scratch Fever" (2:57)
Thick, raw grunge/industrial sound on this one. For some reason, the spine of the
jewelcase says "Fudge Tunnel's First Movement" instead of the name of the album.
Two cover songs at the end, by Cream & Ted Nugent -- I'll let you
figure out which is which. :)
"Teeth EP"
- "Teeth" (3:56)
- "S.R.T." (5:13)
- "Shit for Brains" (3:32)
- "Like Jeff" (3:35)
- "Sunshine of Your Love"--video edit (4:17)
- "Joined at the Dick" (4:21)
Hmm, never knew this EP existed until now. Not much to say about the music, it's the
same industro-grunge mishmash that fills all of their albums. (They actually did a video for
"Sunshine of Your Love"?? Hmm...) "Joined at the Dick" conjures up some rather twisted
images in my head that I'd rather not describe...
"Creep Diets"
- "Grey" (5:28)
- "Tipper Gore" (3:06)
- "Ten Percent" (3:51)
- "Face Down" (5:53)
- "Grit" (3:24)
- "Don't Have Time for You" (2:57)
- "Good Kicking" (4:52)
- "Hot Salad"--instrumental (1:10)
- "Creep Diets" (6:58)
- "Stuck" (4:34)
- "Always" (3:29)
This one's a lot cleaner and commercial-sounding than their debut. Good songs but
it does get boring after awhile. "Always" breaks from the mold with a super-fast,
super-distorted, Godflesh-like piece that is almost pure
white noise!
"The Complicated Futility of Ignorance"
- "Random Acts of Cruelty" (4:41)
- "The Joy of Irony" (5:33)
- "Backed Down" (4:06)
- "Cover Up" (4:51)
- "Six Eight" (7:12)
- "Long Day" (3:21)
- "Excuse" (4:35)
- "Find Your Fortune" (5:00)
- "Suffering Makes Great Stories" (3:31)
- "Circle of Friends, Circle of Trends" (4:33)
- "Rudge with a G" (4:38)
- unlisted track--instrumental (5:30)
Never knew this one even existed until I picked it up. Clean production, with the
sound hearkening back to the raw & unfettered nature of their debut. Really cool to
listen to while stoned. :-) There's an annoying 5 minutes of silence at the beginning
of the unlisted track.
