Hallow's Eve

"Tales of Terror"

  1. "Plunging to Megadeath" (4:54)
  2. "Outer Limits" (3:46)
  3. "Horrorshow" (2:28)
  4. "The Mansion" (3:05)
  5. "There Are No Rules" (1:43)
  6. "Valley of the Dolls"--instrumental (1:07)
  7. "Metal Merchants" (3:20)
  8. "Hallow's Eve" (including Routine) (8:05)

Sloppy death metal from the mid-80's. I owned the crappy vinyl a long time ago and was amazed to find it had made it to CD! "Metal Merchants" originally appeared on Metal Massacre VI.

"Death and Insanity"

  1. "Death and Insanity" (2:18)
  2. "Goblet of Gore" (5:46)
  3. "Lethal Tendencies" (6:35)
  4. "Obituary"--instrumental (0:38)
  5. "Plea of the Aged" (3:20)
  6. "Suicide" (1:17)
  7. "D.I.E. (Death in Effect)" (6:58)
  8. "Attack of the Iguana"--instrumental (2:30)
  9. "Nefarious" (5:02)
  10. "Nobody Lives Forever" (3:42)
  11. "Death and Insanity (reprise)" (1:56)

A classic album with some excellent songs. The movie Pacific Heights (the one with Michael Keaton as the tenant from hell) featured the song "Lethal Tendencies", which was a pleasant surprise!

"Monument"

  1. "Speed Freak" (5:24)
  2. "Sheer Heart Attack" (3:27)
  3. "Rot Gut" (4:14)
  4. "Monument (to Nothing)" (5:09)
  5. "Pain Killer" (5:29)
  6. "The Mighty Decibel" (2:31)
  7. "The Righteous Ones" (6:20)
  8. "No Sanctuary" (4:54)

What a massively disappointing followup to the massively killer Death & Insanity. This album isn't really so awful, as it is derivative, pointless, and boring. The same old plodding riffs, over and over and over...no wonder they broke up after this one, and no wonder that I sold off my original CD just weeks after buying it for the first time...its re-purchase is mostly for completist purposes, and also for the Queen cover "Sheer Heart Attack" (which is actually rather weak.)
