"No Rest for the Wicked"This was one of the very first heavy metal albums I bought on crappy vinyl, back in the days when I was still enough of a good little Christian to be worried about the influence of Satanic music on my fragile soul (hey, that dude on the cover DOES have horns and a forked tail, that means he's Satan, right??) Unfortunately, I sold the record years ago, and it was NEVER issued on CD...until now! Well, I already had a complete enough collection with the greatest hits CD below, except that it ignored two key tracks from this album: "Don't Get Mad Get Even" and "Let's All Do It Tonight", so the rest you can figure out. (I guess "Ain't No High..." is okay, too.)
"Over 60 Minutes With..."A fine greatest hits collection focusing solely on their early material, with seven tracks each taken from No Rest for the Wicked and Walkin' the Razor's Edge, four tracks (including the wonderful power ballad "Deep Cuts the Knife") from Long Way to Heaven, and 4 previously unreleased tracks. NOW...you'd think 7 out of 10 is good odds for getting all their choice songs, right? WRONG!! Where's "Don't Get Mad Get Even"???? HOW THE HELL COULD THEY NOT CHOOSE THAT SONG????? They could have easily left off the crappy "White Lace & Black Leather" instead, or one of the crappy new tracks!! Oh well...the good news is, Brian Vollmer finally raised enough money to reissue ALL of his band's early albums on CD (available from the offical Helix page, in case you're interested...)
