Inner Thought

"Worldly Separation"

  1. "Madness" (1:35)
  2. "Worldly Separation" (5:18)
  3. "Drowning in Sorrow" (4:31)
  4. "In Ourselves We Trust" (3:36)
  5. "War" (5:07)
  6. "Diseased Infected Earth" (3:22)
  7. "Forever Distant" (4:07)
  8. "Disorder of Battles" (2:44)
  9. "Ethnic Cleansing" (4:47)

This one only caught my eye because of the band's "Morbid Visions" song on the Celtic Frost tribute album. Mostly slow, growly death metal, with sort of a funky beat...they use a drum machine on all tracks, which gets QUITE annoying in parts, but allows for the liner notes comment, "Special thanks to technology for creating a drummer that can't talk back!" It all comes together on "Diseased Infected Earth", a terrific song that is Sepultura-worthy! Worth the $3.99 I paid...

"Perspectives"

  1. "Words" (4:08)
  2. "Sanctioned Situations" (3:43)
  3. "Skin and Nails" (4:26)
  4. "Tortured" (5:48)
  5. "Observe..." (5:08)
  6. "Autodogmatic" (4:46)
  7. "Back of Lethargy" (4:49)
  8. "Perspectives"--instrumental (1:58)

Wasn't even going to buy this followup, but DJ boB's a huge fan of this band, and he was so insistent on how good a CD this was, he eventually sent me a free copy...well I'll be damned, he was right! Much tighter than their debut, with a strong death-industrial sound, complete with female backing vocals and some odd "rapping" towards the end. Oh yeah, they apparently fired their old drum machine and hired a better one. :)
