All four ex-Beatles members have had successful solo careers, but the only one whose music I'm remotely interested in is Paul McCartney. In fact, I was a fan of the Wings when I was ten years old, before I knew the Beatles even existed. (Yes, I know it's an old joke: "You mean McCartney was in a band BEFORE Wings??" Tee hee...) Of course his pop style is way outside my current tastes, but this greatest hits compilation works well as a nostalgic purchase.

In fact, I was torn between buying this one or the new best-of set Wingspan. The key dilemma was that that one also included "Maybe I'm Amazed", which stupidly got left off this collection, and my copy on Digital Puppy #2 has a small but annoying skip in the chorus...on the other hand, Wingspan doesn't include the duets with Stevie & Michael (not like that hardly matters), and it's 2 CDs, making it way more expensive with tons of extra crap I'm not interested in at all. Well, I solved the problem in the same way I always do...which is, waiting to see which version I find used first. :-)

Oh, "Live and Let Die" (from the James Bond movie) has been covered by Guns'N'Roses, but you knew that already didn't you?
