"Corridors of Power"Oh, I didn't mention that the only two Gary Moore CDs I'm interested in are his two RAREST! In fact this particular item was long out of print, and I wound up having to order a very expensive import. The best songs here are the hard-driving "Don't Take Me for a Loser" and the truly apocalyptic "End of the World". The slower & more bluesy stuff (basically anything with the word "love" in it) I don't like as much. Just had a look at the band credits, quite a surprise: drums are by Ian Paice (Deep Purple), and the bass player is Neil Murray (Black Sabbath, Whitesnake.) Another bass credit goes to Mo Foster, and I know he played for somebody else too (Phil Collins, maybe?)
"Victims of the Future"I got lucky and found this rare CD used, with a bonus track "All I Want" to boot. Spectacular hard rock throughout, especially "Murder in the Skies", "Devil in Her Heart", the title track, and the Yardbirds' cover "Shapes of Things". Ironically, I wasn't at all into this style of music when I saw Gary Moore perform live, opening for Rush, but I can certainly appreciate it now.
