I kept a lookout for this CD after several metal websites raved about how awesome it was.
Finally I ran across a woefully scratched copy, but decided to listen to it anyway, just to hear
what it sounded like. About halfway through the first song, I was only thinking one thing --
I must own this album, and own it now!!
Apparently, the band started out as a hardcore unit, and evolved into a more ambient sound
later on. This CD was their transition. And what a masterpiece it is! Heavy, progressive
guitar sound, with vocals SCREAMING like a man condemned to hell, with keyboards, violins and
saxophones (!) liberally mixed in with intricacy. I don't know what to compare it to, coz I've
never heard anything like it! DEFINITELY recommended!
(Of course, one of these days I should make the effort to find the rest of their
music...haven't heard any of their later works, except for a live track on the
Ozzfest Live album, and a weird song on the
Virus 100 compilation.)
