"Aldo Nova"I probably like this album more than it deserves, since it was one of the first crappy vinyl records I ever bought. "Fantasy" is a classic monster rocker, of course; "Hot Love" and "Under the Gun" also crank up the volume, while "Can't Stop Lovin' You" provides a surprisingly sweet ballad. "Heart to Heart" and "See the Light" also mix things up with "road music"-type rhythms. As for the rest...well, I listen to it now and I can only imagine what my reaction would have been if I was 24 when I first listened to it rather than 14.
"Subject: Aldo Nova"Ahh, a concept album...sort of. No matter, this is the best music that Aldo ever came up with. "Monkey on Your Back" is so heavy that it's practically heavy metal; "Hold Back the Night", "Armageddon" and "Hey Operator" simply ROCK, and "Victim of a Broken Heart" proves that Aldo's one of the few musicians alive who actually know how to do a rock ballad properly. I even ordered this one new, since I was sick of finding so few used copies, all of which looked like they had been cleaned with sandpaper on a regular basis...
