This fantastic band from the Seattle area put out some of the best progressive metal songs
I've ever heard. They disappeared for a long time after releasing only 2 CDs, and later
resurfaced under the name of Nevermore.
"Refuge Denied"
- "Battle Angels" (4:52)
- "Termination Force" (3:38)
- "Die for My Sins" (3:40)
- "Soldiers of Steel" (5:30)
- "Sanctuary" (3:57)
- "White Rabbit" (3:10)
- "Ascension to Destiny" (4:57)
- "The Third War" (3:52)
- "Veil of Disguise" (5:55)
I didn't get into this album too much at first, mostly due to the sloppy, drunken production
by Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. However, when I saw them live (opening
for Megadeth, in fact) I really appreciated the power of their music, especially the powerful
opening riff to "Battle Angels". Oh, and they have a lot of hair, too!
"Into the Mirror Black"
- "Future Tense" (5:07)
- "Taste Revenge" (5:03)
- "Long Since Dark" (5:05)
- "Epitaph" (6:03)
- "Eden Lies Obscured" (5:23)
- "The Mirror Black" (5:06)
- "Seasons of Destruction" (4:51)
- "One More Murder" (4:20)
- "Communion" (5:40)
A great improvement over their debut CD, production-wise as well as musically. The sound
is a lot like Queensrÿche but with a rawer, heavier sound.
"Into the Mirror Live/Black Reflections"
- "Future Tense" (5:07)
- "Long Since Dark"--live (5:20)
- "Battle Angels"--live (5:00)
- "One More Murder"--live (3:47)
- "White Rabbit"--live (5:30)
- "Taste Revenge"--live (5:00)
I'm not sure if this is a promo CD or what but the real gems here are the live tracks taken
from their show at Reseda's Country Club on May 12, 1990--where I was in the front row!
In fact, you can even hear my voice screaming "ALICE!!!" during the
introduction to "White Rabbit".
