Picked up this compilation CD primarily for the two cover songs, Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" and Billy Idol's "White Wedding". "The Trooper" was originally released on a very rare, long-out-of-print EP, but since the other 3 songs from that EP are also included here ("Desert by Night", "In Memoriam", "Awaiting the Winter Frost"), I don't have to worry about finding it if I ever decide to collect more Sentenced CD's (unlikely). Especially because their version SUCKS!! -- the music is average, but the vocals are downright horrible. (I don't believe that song can be properly covered, anyway.) "White Wedding", on the other hand, is done very well, with a dark & moody feel that is true to the original.

The rest of the music is a nice collection, ranging from their primitive death metal beginnings to their more recent, "Gothenberg sound". One thing that irks me (kinda) is the song "Nepenthe", which completely rips off the guitar riff & vocal melody from Bathory's "Under the Runes"!!! Oh well, that shows they've got good taste in music, at least.
