Tesla

Of all the mid-80's power-rock, "hair metal" bands, this group possessed one quality that the rest did not...TALENT!

"Mechanical Resonance"

  1. "EZ Come EZ Go" (3:33)
  2. "Cumin' Atcha Live" (4:27)
  3. "Gettin' Better" (3:22)
  4. "2 Late 4 Love" (3:50)
  5. "Rock Me to the Top" (3:40)
  6. "We're No Good Together" (5:18)
  7. "Modern Day Cowboy" (5:18)
  8. "Changes" (5:02)
  9. "Little Suzi" (4:58)
  10. "Love Me" (4:16)
  11. "Cover Queen" (4:32)
  12. "Before My Eyes" (5:31)

My brother owns The Great Radio Conspiracy, and his best friend owns Psychotic Supper, so it was only natural that I buy this one, their debut album. (Of course, it took me over a decade to do so...) LOTS of radio-friendly hits here, including "Little Suzi", "Modern Day Cowboy" (the best track on the album BY FAR), "Gettin' Better", "EZ Come EZ Go", etc. As for the rest of their catalog...well, I can't even remember what their later albums sound like, so I'll probably wind up sticking with just this one...

"Psychotic Supper"

  1. "Change in the Weather" (3:38)
  2. "Man Out of Time Edison's Medicine" (4:46)
  3. "Don't De-Rock Me" (5:11)
  4. "Call It What You Want" (4:30)
  5. "Song & Emotion" (8:28)
  6. "Time" (5:14)
  7. "Government Personnel" (0:58)
  8. "Freedom Slaves" (6:40)
  9. "Had Enough" (4:49)
  10. "What You Give" (7:15)
  11. "Stir It Up" (5:40)
  12. "Can't Stop" (5:27)
  13. "Toke About It" (5:23)

The band's third album, and this is where they really started to suck. It's essential for the track "Song & Emotion", written in memory of that dead guitarist (Steve Clarke) from Def Leppard, plus the song "Edison's Medicine" is quite excellent, and "What You Give" is a decent power ballad when the mood strikes me. But the rest is derivative, repetitive, boring pointless generic hair metal, with few redeeming qualities. I got it for $2.99, and frankly I should have held out for a cheaper copy...
