Although I've been aware of Tygers of Pan Tang since the earliest days, I never actually heard a single note of their music until I bought this CD. Probably should have consulted the various review sites before purchasing it, though -- they all agree that this album is by far their worst, and by gum, they're right. The first couple tracks start of in a groovy power-crunch metal vein similar to the Scorpions's Love at First Sting (particularly impressive, since that album wasn't released until 2 years later), but after that, all you get is song after song of boring, insipid, totally generic metal. I guess their cover of "Love Potion Number 9" is okay (and that's the song that gets picked for every NWOBHM compilation I've seen.) Paid $12.99 for this used import/remastered copy that adds 4 bonus tracks, which sound MUCH better than the previous dreck (except for the crappy remix of "Making Tracks", of course.) Now I have to track down their earlier CDs just to see what all the fuss is about!
