"Victor"This album doesn't sound as much like Rush as one would expect. A few songs, in particular "Promise", "The Big Dance", and "I Am the Spirit" contain some signature Liefson licks, and the guest vocalist on "Start Today" manages a successful Geddy Lee impersonation -- but in between the straight rock tracks are lots of experimental stuff, including the atmospheric "Victor" and "At the End", the Eastern-flavored instrumental "Strip and Go Naked" (interesting title there), and the novelty track "Shut Up Shuttin' Up", featuring two women complaining about men. A curious diversion, but hardly essential even for Rush fans.
