"To Live and Die in L.A."--original motion picture soundtrackYa know, I just loved this movie, especially the end where the "hero" gets a face full of -- DOH! don't wanna spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it! Well, anyway that's probably the reason why I like this album so much. It's moody and melodic, perhaps a little dark in places, with a fantastic minimalist opening track that just KICKS! The instrumentals are great, too...far from being some cheap soundtrack pap (a la Michael Kamen), "City of the Angels" and "Black-White-Blue" are very nearly the best tracks on this album! Oh yeah, "Dance Hall Days" was in the movie too, but of course didn't wind up on the soundtrack. (It does appear on the new wave comp Living in Oblivion 4, however.)
