Although John Wetton made some fantastic music with King Crimson and Asia, I considered his solo work to be pure crap. So I passed over this live CD initially, until I thought, wait a minute. King Crimson. Asia. Songs performed live. So I took the plunge. It's actually a mixed bag, "Heat of the Moment" and "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes" are boring acoustic renditions, and "Don't Cry" is pretty weak, though "Open Your Eyes" manages to rock a bit. The Crimson numbers are done fairly well. But the real surprise here, the songs cowritten by someone named Jobson ("Rendez-Vous 6:02", "In the Dead of the Night" and "Thirty Years") are amazing! Was John in another band that I don't know about?? As it turns out, he was! The band was called U.K. and they put out two mighty fine albums, during the interim between John's Uriah Heep and Asia years.

The other solo tracks are just what I expected, lame and boring. Still, it's a nice CD to listen to and worth the $7.99 I spent.
