Steve Winwood

Fronting such classic 60's and 70's bands as the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, and Blind Faith, Steve Winwood has got to be the happiest, most emotionally balanced guy in the history of rock'n'roll.

"Talking Back to the Night"

  1. "Valerie" (4:05)
  2. "Big Girls Walk Away" (3:51)
  3. "And I Go" (4:12)
  4. "While There's a Candle Burning" (3:11)
  5. "Still in the Game" (4:51)
  6. "It Was Happiness" (4:58)
  7. "Help Me Angel" (5:06)
  8. "Talking Back to the Night" (5:44)
  9. "There's a River" (4:40)

One of these days I plan to get his other solo albums, at least the two I care a whit about (Arc of a Diver and Back in the High Life), but as time goes on my interest in them gets less and less. Yet this lovely, synth-heavy offering has always held high marks from me, particularly for the tracks "Valerie" and "Still in the Game" (though I really, REALLY feel that he should have repeated that last chorus twice, it would have added so much more energy to the song, hmmf maybe I'll remix it myself someday...)
