This NWOBHM band is best remembered for its scandalous album covers of nuns getting
raped by priests. (In fact, it was the cover of Death Penalty that inspired Tipper
"Slut" Gore and her bull-dyke girlfriends to form the PMRC.) As for their music...hehe,
well, that's a different story...
"Death Penalty"
- "Invisible Hate" (6:05)
- "Free Country" (3:10)
- "Death Penalty" (5:35)
- "No Stayer" (4:25)
- "Witchfinder General" (3:51)
- "Burning a Sinner" (3:28)
- "R.I.P." (4:04)
Never heard anything from this album until I bought the CD. The first two songs
have a nice blues-metal groove to them, the rest are crap. Ah well, I only got it
for the cover art anyway. :-)
"Friends of Hell"
- "Love on Smack" (4:15)
- "Last Chance" (3:53)
- "Music" (3:09)
- "Friends of Hell" (6:06)
- "Requiem for Youth" (4:35)
- "Shadowed Images" (4:20)
- "I Lost You" (2:57)
- "Quietus" (6:27)
- "Quietus Reprise"--instrumental (0:39)
MAJOR Black Sabbath influence here...in fact, "Last Chance"
totally rips off the drum beat of "Iron Man". Actually, the music here's a lot better
than what I remember. Except for "Music", of course. That song BLOWS!!!!!
