LMPS 'R US

Do you enjoy "watching" Doom more than watching TV? Then you've come to the right place...

Here are some PWAD lmps done by me (or collections I was involved with):

Cygnus IV Eternal Doom Hell Revealed
Requiem Strain Squadron 417
The Talosian Incident KEEP.WAD Misc. PWADS

And here are some regular, boring Doom2 levels done by me (and others.)
Or you can skip everything and go straight to the links section (but I will hate you.)

News & Updates

5/4/00:

Fixed some of the Misc. PWAD links, also changed the link to Andy Olivera's page (totally redesigned, check it out!!) and deleted the link to The Doom Level Lords, which is no more.

1/28/00:

Only update today is adding a couple long-overdue selections to the links section. I really haven't been playing Doom2 much lately, although I continue to watch new demos as they get made.

5/28/99:

Yeah, I know, long time between updates here...you wanna make something of it?? Remember, playing Doom2 causes permanent psychosis, just look what happened in Littleton... :-P

Anyhoo...check out the Requiem section for some updated lmps, including a "grudge match" between myself and Adam Williamson...

I also got a couple new Compet-N records (sort of), plus a couple new 32-level UV-Max runs done by other people. Due to Compet-N's constant state of flux, all lmps are stored locally now.

2/26/99:

Fixed my Compet-N demo link...AGAIN...hey Adam, stop playing with your FTP files!! Oh, and there's also a few new Icarus demos available for your enjoyment. :-)

2/10/99:

Fixed the link to my Compet-N demo & added a bunch more links.

1/17/99:

I GOT A COMPET-N RECORD!!!!! Redid my Nightmare-map-15-via-normal-exit run in 3:34!! Download it here to check it out!

1/1/99:

Happy Freakin' New Year, everyone. :-P

Posted new demos for Hell Revealed, Squadron 417, Moon 2000 and Icarus. That's it.

10/15/98:

Hmm, time for my semi-annual Doom page update. :) Well, now that I've finally completed work on my CD Gallery, and I've finally quit playing Ultima Online, I think I'll have some extra time to play around with this page a bit.

No demo contest here, sorry. No lame updates about pages that have very little to do with Doom2, either. Only LMPs. TONS of LMPs. And not just me playing either. Instead, what I have in mind is...(drum roll please)...a listing of ALL Doom/Doom2 LMPs available on the 'Net. A "LMP Reviews" section, if you will. At least the ones worth watching.

Sound good? Let me know if it's worth doing or not. Or if you got any other ideas to do with this stupid page. Does anybody play Doom2 anymore, or does everyone just bitch and complain?

Well, that's all I have to say. For now, just wanted to point out some changes to this site. First, and most noticeably, the PWAD demos have been moved to their own separate pages, to save on downloading time. (Didn't realize what a MONSTER this page had become!!) Second, a lot of crappy demos have been deleted and a few dead links here and there were fixed. And third...this is what you're here for, right?...I got NEW DEMOS for Eternal, Requiem, Altier 6, and regular, boring Doom2 (plus a map15 Nightmare demo that is DEFINITELY not boring!!).

The links section (bah! links! I hate 'em!!) has also be greatly expanded.

Well, that's it. See you in 6 months!! :-)

All demos on these pages are made to run with DoomII v1.9 ONLY. If you don't have v1.9, you better get the upgrade patch, or use a LMP-editing utility (such as LMPC.) If you don't have DoomII at all, why are you here???

If you don't know how to watch these demos, try doing this: doom2 -file [pwad name] -playdemo [lmpfile name] Do NOT type the .lmp extension in the lmp file name. Obviously, the -file option only applies to lmps for external wads.

Any questions, or if you just want to laugh in my face, email me.

Regular, boring Doom2 lmps

I took a close look at these lmps and realized that most of them were total crap. So I axed all the crappy ones and put up a few good ones to please ya:

THE LONGEST DOOM2 DEMO(S) EVER
You're not gonna believe this. I've actually taken it upon myself to record THE ENTIRE GAME OF DOOM2, WITH 100% KILLS, 100% SECRETS, FROM THE LEDGE WHERE YOU GRAB THE CHAINSAW TO WHERE YOU PUMP YOUR LAST ROCKET INTO JOHN ROMERO'S EXPOSED BRAIN!!! Can you believe someone would do something this insane?? Well, it turns out I'm not the only one!! Here's a couple ultimate "DOOM2 MOVIES" for you to check out...if you dare!
(NOTE: due to the length of these lmps, -timedemo is highly recommended.)
30UV100.ZIP The original 100%/100% 32-level demo, recorded by Daniel "Demonlord" Lindgren back in 1996. Only problem is he missed that annoying secret on map27 that closes after 30 seconds.
30UV-MAX.ZIP New recording (April '99) by Anders Johnsen, inspired by this very page. :) Super fast!
LEVRUN26.ZIP My own best try so far. This really is harder than it looks, fellas...

COMPET-N
PA06-257.ZIP Kai's original 6-minute lmp was kinda long, so I thought I'd update his record. Believe it or not, the last room is pretty easy...getting the red key is HARD, though!
NM15-317.ZIP Updated NM15 run to the normal exit, a record which stood a whole 6 hours before Hennig Skogsto beat it with a 2:43 run.

DHT EXAMS
MASTER D2M6JPH.ZIP Big deal, anyone who can lift a mouse can do a Master Exam...even if they only use keyboard. :-P Wanna see me puss out on the Cyberdemon in map29? Then this one's specially for you. [text file]
VELOX D2V6JPH.ZIP Previously known as Speedy Gonzales, i.e. finishing the level under par time. RIDICULOUSLY easy. [text file]
YAGYU D2Y6JPH.ZIP What the hell is a Yagyu, anyway? I have no idea, except that it used to be called "Grand Master" -- don't bother with these lmps, they totally suck. [text file]
INCUBUS D2I6JPH.ZIP Oooohhh....this one was TOUGH. Maps 10 & 20 were difficult enough, but when I saw I had drawn map 17 as well, I nearly cried. In fact I had to use my brother's P133 to even stand a chance. Took about 100 tries, and FINALLY made it. [text file]

Single-level lmps
Lev# File Style Description
06 JHMAP06.ZIP Reg. UV A neat trick I found where you make the spiderdemon fight the imps, so you can grab the plasma gun from behind her back.
Time = 6:05
06 JH06-229.ZIP Speedy
Gonzales
Very difficult, especially w/o the jump tricks (which, as a keyboarder, I simply cannot do.) Took several tries in practice, but when recording, I made it on the first attempt! Time = 2:29
10 JH10-UVP.ZIP Pacifist Thought it was all over when the cyberdemon teleported in front of me. Got DAMN lucky. Time = 1:15
15 NM15R-JH.ZIP N/mare My first successful run of map15 in Nightmare via normal exit. Time = 6:03
17 NM17FUCK.ZIP N/mare A failed attempt while striving for the DHT Incubus title. It's pretty damn funny. At least I think it is. Time = n/a
19 JH19-TYS.ZIP Tyson This was HARD. Even though it's classified as an "Easy" Tyson level, I just can't get the hang of Tyson for some reason. Took me WEEKS to do this one! Time = 25:43
30 JHMAP30.ZIP Reg. UV Hasn't everyone and their grandmother done this level? Oh well. So have I. :-) The tricky part, of course, is getting those damn rockets to go in. Made a few other LMPS, but this one was the longest and therefore the most exciting. Time = 3:02

Tired of watching me play? Very well...here's some other places to find great LMPs:

Anders Johnson's homepage -- looks like one of the reigning Doom-Gods is making a new megawad that will rival Hell Revealed in difficulty, along with the requisite demo-pack for those who prefer to "watch" instead of play...stay tuned for more details.
The Compet-N Homepage -- where the bravest, baddest, and fastest Doomers come out to play.
Doom2 Secrets List -- Graphical listing of where all the secrets in Doom2 are located. Has some lmps too, but most are v1.7 or older...
Ftp.cdrom.com LMP archive -- if you've watched everything else and want more, you can always browse through here. Be warned, though...most everything here sucks. :-P
George Bell's Doom2 Tyson Collection -- Ever try completing a level using only pistol, chainsaw & fist? These lmps will show you how.
Kai-Uwe Humpert's homepage -- Another top DOOM player. His "home-built" lmp collection is archived here.
Ledemeister's Demo Files -- Mostly instructional lmps. Useful only for those who can't figure out how to get the red key on map02. :-P
Master Levels for DoomII -- Home of the Master Levels FAQ, with a few demos (which seem to have gone missing...email Henrik for them.)
Opulent's Doom2 Page -- One of the best, most comprehensive lists of pwad lmps I've ever seen. Hmm, some of my own demos are listed here...
PlanetQuake -- If you think Doom totally sucks, here's some Quake stuff for ya. The famous "Doom Done Quick" demos can be found here and here.
Steffen Udluft's Doom2 Pacifist Collection -- Think Tyson mode is too easy? Try NOT USING ANY WEAPONS AT ALL!!
Team Insanity LMP Competition - the only active demo competition out there right now.
TeamTNT's Demo Central -- The creators of Eternal, Icarus and Final Doom now bring you demos for...well...Eternal, Icarus and Final Doom. :-))
Thomas "Panter" Pilger's Reality Doom demos -- What is "Reality Doom"? I have no idea. But any site hosted by the current reigning God of the Doom world has got to be good. :-)
Tools-Assisted Speeedruns -- Question: if you admit to cheating in a demo, is it really cheating?? No matter, this page of "cheated" demos has some amazing stuff!!
Visions of Doom (Andy Olivera) -- comprehensive reviews of several wads, including Requiem, Memento Mori, and others, with links to LMP collections where they exist.
Yonatan Donner's Home Page -- One of the craziest Doom players out there, as evidenced by his totally insane megawad HELL REVEALED...if you think Doom2 on Nightmare is too easy, this is the wad for you!

people since 5/20/97 have looked at this page, scoffed, and quickly gone elsewhere.
